I have some experience building robots and using motors, but no underwater ones. So this should be exciting.
What sort of instructions comes with the kit? How do I get support when stuck and have a question?

Hi Sreeram!
Thanks so much for starting this thread, you have some really helpful questions. I'll give you my answers to these one by one:
"Why is it "beta". Is it different from the assembled version?"
We have this listed as the "beta" version because it's the very first release version of our kit. We're taking all the information from our users to make each successive kit a bit easier to build, experiment with, and expand. The only difference between this model and the assembled version is that assembly is required. I actually prefer and recommend the "beta" build-it-yourself version. It's very satisfying to build the kit, includes all the tools you need, and you can save a bit of cash.
"What sort of instructions comes with the kit?"
We include a QR code with each box that takes you to our online (and continuously updated) Users' and Assembly manuals. You can check them out here to get a better idea of the build process.

I'm also releasing a video version of the assembly manual on our YouTube channel. We release at least one video every week to clarify each aspect of the build.

"How do I get support when stuck and have a question?"
Super important question. The best way to get support is to come to this forum for any help you need. It's the best way to help yourself and the diy ROV community. As I think you've seen already, you'll have the support of the ROV kit designer (me!), as well as access to help from all our users and fellow robosub creators. And don't be shy - if you have a question, someone else will certainly learn from it!!
You can also send us a private message on Facebook or Instagram (links below).
I really hope this clarifies some of your questions. Please let us know if you want to know anything else, and we'll be happy to help. And thank you so much for joining our forums. We're still starting out, so every person who joins our team helps us immensely.
Happy building,
Costas Soler
One more thing interesting with that project it’s the possibility to upgrade and modify the code for the Raspberry I have some good ideas for the next model C Costas he’s lot interested by all possibility to upgrade the C
The construction is easy the only thing I don’t like it’s the size of the sphere it’s a little bit tiny and you need to be patient when you place different wires on GPIO. me I have added some blue tape because sometimes they fall (disconnect) and it’s boring but for the rest the experience is really interesting. You can brought one 100%
this is fantastic! Congratulations!
Did you run into challenges in the build? Would be great to know your story. I am planning to order mine soon.
Dive test without raspberry
